August 2019

August was a great month. Full of camping, family and friends visiting, play dates with friends and crafts.  At the end of July we changed campground mid-week and ended up one night in Deer Park.  It is part of the Olympic National Forest.  It was 15 miles up a windy road.  But amazing views. The pictures just don't do it justice but we tried to capture the magical views.

Our campsite.  There are no reservations so first come, first serve.  Our site had a small outdoor sleeping shelter.  Since we were in bear country we opted for our tent:)

The kids met a friend in the next campsite.  They were playing in their hammock

Field behind out campsite.  Just beautiful

We took the kids to an overlook area to watch the sunset.  We saw this family of deer just having their dinner.

We only stayed one night at Deer Park. The views were amazing.  However, it rained ALL night and there was definitely some sort of animal in our site.  The kids slept great...Allen and I were up most of the night:)
We signed the kids up for four Saturday's of soccer/t-ball lessons.  Cole walking off the soccer field.

Participating in the gardening club at the park.  Helping water the plants

They got to help pull some vegetables
Every Sunday evening Danielle preps all her meals for the week. Alexis is always willing to help (and snack a long the way)
We met some friends at Point-no-Point beach for a beach day

 Having fun on our hike

We had one great night/day and then it started to rain.  It was not predicted to rain so we were bummed.  We left early and that was the end of tent camping in 2019.
We made dried lavender sachets.  The kids actually had fun but they look so unhappy in this picture:)
 The final product

We had a great summer.  Exploring, make all things blackberry, learning to ride a bike, the beach....
