Arizona Trip, November 2015

We went to Arizona in November for a wedding.  It was the second time Alexis was on a plane. Traveling with a toddler is not an easy task.   I have a much greater appreciation for my friend Katie.  She was a bridesmaid in my wedding...she had a two year old and was seven months pregnant.  They traveled to Arizona and participated in all of the events.  What a friend...thank you Katie!!

It was so great to see everyone in Arizona and be part of the wedding.  Traveling with Alexis was so much easier when she was only six months old and would sleep in your arms.  Now she is mobile and wants to get down and crawl around.   She does not just fall asleep anywhere--she is very social and wants to see what is going on at all times.  We flew to Arizona on a Thursday.  Thankfully my Mom was with us.  It made traveling a little easier.

Reading with Mommy. Eventually she started tearing the pages out of the magazine. This was very entertaining.
She was so tired when we landed she finally fell asleep in her stroller.
Our hotel room was not ready so we made the best of it and went out to lunch.  We enjoyed some margaritas and Alexis enjoyed lunch. She loves eating out.
Cheers!
On Friday was we were able to visit with my uncle Mike and Kelly (or Great Uncle Mike and Kelly).  It was so nice to spend time with them.  We had breakfast and lunch together.

After the rehearsal on Friday we attended the rehearsal happy hour/dinner
We enjoyed some chips and salsa and a margarita.  Alexis did not last long and we had to go back to our hotel room

Saturday was my friend Alice and David's wedding.  I was a bridesmaid and Alexis was a flower girl. Here we are all dressed up.

This is the only picture I took of the happy couple. Congratulations to Alice and David!
We are so thankful my Mom watched Alexis so we could enjoy the wedding.  Having fun!
We were so lucky on the way home.  We got to the airport and the line for security was ridiculously long.  An airport worker saw us and a few other families with babies and let us cut the entire security line...THANK YOU so much.  We had so much extra time Allen and I enjoyed a nice lunch with some wine and Alexis got to eat out again.

Daddy is amazing and was able to get her to fall asleep on his lap on the plane ride home.

Overall it was a great trip.  So glad we could be part of such a special day.

Family Visit

We were so lucky to have our family from New York--Aunt Pat, Uncle Gene, Karen, Melanie & Matt plus Danielle and Trevor visit us for a week in November.  We had such a fun visit.  They got to meet Alexis and spend tons of time with her.

 Having fun with Melanie
On Friday Melanie and Karen attended my Mom and Baby workout.  Here is Alexis all bundled up.

On Saturday Allen took Gene, Matt, Karen and Melanie downtown.  He gave them a tour of the area and of his office.  Here they are having fun in the boardroom.  Matt looks good commanding the room.

Happy Birthday Mom

My Mom turned 65 in October. As most people know...I love birthdays and celebrating them as long as possible. We planned a week long celebration.

We started the week with a gift of colored  pencils and a coloring book--for adults. It is very relaxing.

The second day was a cookbook and fun spatulas.

Day three was some lavender lotion.  Forgot to take a picture.

Day four was her favorite flowers...white daisies

Day five was Starbucks...coffee and scones.

On her birthday we had lemon meringue pie and Skyped with Danielle and Trevor.

Trevor on Skype. Waiting for Danielle to call in

Mom opening her gifts. Of course she is wearing a crown. We got her a reach tool...it is so great in the kitchen.  We also got her a magnifying glass with light.

We went out for lunch at a Japanese restaurant. Alexis loves eating out with us. Only a picture of the baby...forgot the rest of us.

Happy 65th birthday Mom. Love you. Sorry we never made it to the beach. Next year.

Happy Halloween

Alexis was Minnie Mouse for her first Halloween. She was able to wear it four times and we got some great pictures.

We took Alexis to a pumpkin patch. Here are a few of her in a "my first Halloween" onesie and her costume. She was overtired so no smiles.

Her first pair of shoes...perfect for her costume.

Alexis and her BFF Kyle after our workout class. She loves eating her Puffs.

Once a month a bunch of Mom's with babies get together. This was our Halloween event. Alexis is playing with one of the other babies.

We tried to take a picture with 10+ babies...ha, ha. Love how Alexis is holding her hands.

We took Alexis to the Houston zoo for the first time. They had a Halloween event called Zoo Boo.
Here she is with Daddy...so serious.

She didn't seem impressed with the zoo.

She loved the pumpkin patch at the zoo. All smiles.

Happy Halloween 2015!
